DAMN YOU, COLOR SPACE!

A few days ago, I had posted a collection of my looks that I wore during the month of October and asked my readers to share their thoughts on their favorite looks. A lot of you commented on the said post, claiming that your favorite look was the "purple chevron" dress, or the "purple and neon" maxi skirt combo.

Say wha?

Either I had gone color blind or people were clearly reading the blog of my alter-ego. After a thorough eye examination from my sister, who happens to be an Optometrist, I concluded that my eyes had not yet betrayed me. So I decided to view my blog (I know, how conceited) from work on my shitty Dell computer. I was appalled.

Shock and horror.

The colors on all of the pictures were dull and had mutated beyond the point of recognition. A color space of what resembled fungus overlayed the pictures, which performed a grand injustice to the true beautiful and vibrant colors to the real pictures. See Exhibit A (before) and Exhibit B after the pictures were posted on the internet.

After an entire evening spent with google, I concluded that I have a kick ass, high quality monitor that allows me to view a ProPhoto RGB color space, that is not compatible with most computer monitors. So, I have decided, for your viewing pleasure, to rectify this issue. I have re-posted the pictures in all previous posts with the correct color space for web, so that you can view how the colors were actually supposed to be displayed. You can go back to view the old posts to see the glaring difference.

Style blogging, what are you? New post tomorrow folks.

  6. Imagine how dull exhibit B will look on dull screens if it's already a dull pic.... very existential

  7. Ahhh, too hilarious! Yay for kickass monitors, apparently the rest of us suck. Actually I had a similar problem when people liked my 'velvet' dress...yeah, I don't have one! Either way your chevron dress is very pretty!

  8. I know that problem, I had it before. Luckily enough we have three monitors here at home to check (but you know, it still happens). You are crazy to repost all the pictures. But I guess that shows the love for your blog!

  9. aha, I totally skipped your question but I cannot really say it's neon in either example. Perhaps the vivid purple makes it appeal more neon?

  10. I really understand how much it's annoying when you only want to display high quality and things doesn't go as we wish! But fortunately it's OK now;)!!
